The TIJ principle
Thermal InkJet (TIJ) houses the entire printing technology inside the cartridge itself: heating resistors, ink reservoir and nozzles. At each cartridge change, the printhead is brand new — which eliminates virtually all maintenance.
TIJ advantages
- Resolution up to 600 dpi: perfectly readable DataMatrix, QR codes and small characters
- Virtually no maintenance: no pump, no solvent, no nozzle to clean — the head is replaced with the cartridge
- Immediate start-up: ready to print within seconds, even after long shutdowns
- Clean and quiet operation: suited to pharmaceutical and cosmetic environments
- Multi-head: several cartridges stitched together for larger print heights
TIJ applications
TIJ excels on flat, low-porosity substrates at short distance: pharmaceutical and cosmetic cartons, coated boxes, labels, tickets, pouches. It is the preferred technology for serialization and regulatory DataMatrix codes thanks to its high resolution.
