EPAL pallets circulate through factories, warehouses and carriers. Internal references, dates, lot numbers, logos and 2D codes must remain visible despite wood texture, dust, handling and transport.

Why hot coding has limitations on wood

Hot coding requires contact, pressure and a heated cliché. It can work for fixed marks, but format changes and variable data require interventions. Uneven boards also make consistent contact difficult.

Advantages of direct inkjet

Large-format inkjet prints without contact on wood. Messages can change from one pallet to the next, with no cliché and no additional label. A sensor and encoder trigger the mark in the correct position.
